This is for a projecrt management class. Here are the requirements: Project Requirements Background: Working in groups or alone, apply the project management techniques learned throughout the semester to a single project of your choice.
Project Report 1. Description a. Professional looking, submitted in Word or PDF format, and comprised of “real” content – I don’t want to read a lot of fluff or generic statements. Make a statement and then back it up with some facts or reasoning. b. Should contain the key elements below. As applicable, include an analysis of what the information is telling you. For example, if you present a Net Present Value (NPV) calculation, describe what the value means, why it is important, and the decision that should be made based on the information. c. The project does not have to be extremely complicated, usually this distracts people from the purpose of this assignment which is application of the principles. Generally a project should have least 10 steps, require resources, and cost money to accomplish that is offset by a monetary benefit so you can do a project justification.
Project Report Content a. Executive summary: background and motivation for your project, bullet point the key points of your project as if submitted to top management. b. Selection Criteria: why should this project be pursued? Complete a selection analysis – use the nonnumeric and/or numeric selection methods learned in class: Operating/competitive necessity, comparative benefits, NPV, IRR, Simple Payback, scoring/weighted scoring, etc. c. Project organization: org chart, key responsibilities, PM. Describe advantages and disadvantages of your org chart type. d. Project Plan:Show mind map and Work Breakdown Structure in MS Project e. Risk analysis: Pro Forma, FMEA, or simulation f. Budget: budget planning linked back to WBS using Optimistic/Normal/Pessimistic values g. Schedule: PERT/CPM analysis with AON network, critical path and time identified, probability of accomplishing project on time, Gantt chart – must be from MS Project, life cycle diagram h. Resources: Crash analysis on schedule and budget, resource loading analysis Notes 1. Although the content and actual data of the projects are fake, make assumptions realistic so that limitation of resources is apparent 2. Projects should have sufficient complexity and content that you can provide adequate examples of the required deliverables
