Prepare: As you prepare to write your first discussion for this course, take a few moments to

• Read over the numerous quizzes you’ve taken, starting with the Grammar Assessment.
• Review the feedback you received from your instructor.
• Review the Grading Rubric for this discussion.
• Review section 9.4 of Essentials of College Writing.

Reflect:

• Take time to reflect on what errors continually recur in your instructor feedback and quiz results.

Write: Create a list of your five most frequent errors.

• Add your list of five errors to the “Editing Checklist” handout.
• Next, choose two proofreading strategies from section 9.4 of Essentials of College Writing and use those strategies to edit your essay.
• For your initial post
  • Attach a copy of your editing checklist.
  • Describe the two proofreading strategies that you used.
  • Explain which strategy you prefer and why.
  • Explain what the benefits and drawbacks are for each strategy.
