Arming our Pilots

Questions:

1: Why is this an issue right now?

2: I want to know what kind of problems a Pilot could or would possibly encounter whilst flying an airliner.

3: Should Pilots even be allowed to possess firearms while on a plane? Would he have to store it in a safe or lock box unless he needed to use it? What kind of firearm are they planning on giving them or allowing them to carry onto flights?

4: I want to know what are the hazards of bringing a loaded weapon on board.

5: I want to find what lead up to the point where pilots needed firearms, I want to find out what pushed them to that breaking point.

6: What happened in the past that would make this a relevant issue today?

Thesis Statement:

While in the air, it is a pilots duty to make sure everyone on board stays safe just like when on the ground it is the police’s duty to keep everyone safe, the only difference is that pilots don’t have firearms, at least not yet.

Thesis Statement 2:

While firearms could potentially be used against the pilots if they were to fall into the wrong hands, pilots should be allowed to carry firearms for protection. It is the Pilots duty to protect every person on the flight no matter what. Its up to them to get the people to their destinations safely. Unfortunately, planes have been used in the past for terrorist attacks and have also been hijacked to many times. But, Just the idea of pilots having guns would most definitely decrease the amount of terrorist attacks involving planes.
