•Your paper must have a clear, argumentative thesis which states your main idea. Often, students use their interpretation of central idea as a thesis, but this is only one option. •Your paper must include a summary of the short story according to Aristotelian narrative structure (beginning, middle, end). •Your paper must have a clear organization with an introduction, background, body of analysis paragraphs, and conclusion. •Your paper have coherent organization so that each analysis paragraph has a point which is relevant to your thesis and is related to what comes before and after. •Your paper must include specific examples and direct quotations from your chosen short story (primary text) as evidence of your analysis.
•Your paper must use proper MLA format to cite quotations and paraphrases. This involves both in-text citation (parenthetical citations at the ends of sentences) and a works cited at the end of your paper. •Your paper must be written in clear, grammatically correct prose. •Your paper must be written in a style appropriate to college writing. •Your paper must meet a minimum length of 800 words (approximately 3 typed pages) though you will likely need more than 800 words for sufficient analysis. •Your paper must be turned in on Blackboard in a readable file type (preferably .doc, .pages, or.
