International students (USCIS)
International students’ status is F-1 visa so that they are protected and are followed by USCIS. All international students should go back to their countries after they graduate from their universities in 60 days. The period is a grace period. If they want to get a job in the U.S., they have to apply for an OPT, which is optical practice training. In order to get an opt card, students make a payment for the proper procedure of earning the card. Usually, it takes for about 2 months in receiving the OPT card via mail.
After getting the OPT card, international students should initiate working as either an employee or an intern in 90 days. If they do not begin working in 90 days, they ought to go back to their countries. If they get a job in the period, they are able to work in a year from the start of a opt card. If they are provided with employee visa sponsorship, they will work on and on. In other words, people who does not have either a green card or a citizenship, are not easy to get a job in the U.S.
While international students are studying in the U.S., they spend a considerable amount of money for tuition, housing fees, foods and allowances. Since most international students grew up in prosperous neighborhood, they are generous to purchase high price of stuffs. Their life styles from their countries are almost similar to the U.S. so that their cost living fee is pretty high. It has a positive influence on community in the light of economy. When they graduate from their universities, most of students go back to their countries due to a visa status. Ultimately, international students are good people to develop a certain community. Since most of them might go back to their countries, they will not have a negative influence on the job market in the U.S.
