This report will look at a company in the automotive industry which will be required to react to the increase of e-cars and their use which could result in a change of strategy, both management and operations. Moreover, it will be analysed with two types of analysis’s, internal and external analysis as this will include SWOT analysis for the the internal analysis, and PESTLE analysis for the external analysis.

The company is Nissan which is a multinational with a base in the uk. Nissan was founded in December 1933 and since her establishment she has engaged in production of different types and models of vehicles in different markets globally. Nissan built a car plant in the UK in 1984 and since then it has engaged in manufacturing different models and types of combustion engine cars including Nissan X-Trail, Nissan 370Z and Nissan GT-R naming a few. The demand for e-cars in the UK market led to Nissan to consider producing e-cars which led to the company producing Nissan LEAF and e-NV200 Comb which are 100% electric cars and the most purchased types of e-car automobiles in the market. As of 2017, Nissan generated £6.4bn from sales of e-car models and combustion engine cars and has employed more that 7,000 employees.
