Description and Purpose:
The Mass Media Analysis Paper will assess your analytical and critical thinking skills in terms of the process of interpersonal communication and how it shapes why we communicate, our identities, and interactions. You will also examine different depictions through the mass media and its impact on an individual and societal level in terms of interpersonal communication. Interpersonal communication portrayed in mass media involve television, radio, film, internet, advertisements, etc. Adler and Proctor (2017) describe interpersonal relationships also involve social media through mediated communication (e.g., electronic communication), which can be both positive and negative.
Instructions:
Choose one or more films, television shows, YouTube videos and/or analyze several advertisements (e.g., in news organizations, websites, magazines, social media, etc.). Be sure to cite the sources in APA that you will analyze. Apply and cite at least four concepts from chapters 1-3 of our required textbook and five concepts from five credible sources of outside research (e.g., scholarly journal articles, documentaries, encyclopedias, magazines, book reviews, chapter reviews, news articles, studies from websites)
Your analysis of interpersonal communication, its relationship with mass media, how the self is presented and shaping our identity based on answering a series of questions (below are further instructions). Submit the essay as a MS-Word document via Canvas by the due date: 11/7, 12:45pm.

It is typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, size 12 font, and submitted as a MS-Word document via Canvas by the due date.

Arguments must have relevant examples and strong reasoning.
You must cite at least four concepts from chapters 1-3 of our required textbook, the sources you will be analyzing, and five concepts from five credible sources of outside research (e.g., scholarly journal articles, documentaries, encyclopedias, magazines, book reviews, chapter reviews, news articles, studies from websites) which are defined and explained well.
All sources must be cited properly by summarizing, paraphrasing, and quoting using APA in-text citations and include all sources in the References page.
