To what extent does Stowe’s character of Mrs. Bird in Uncle Tom’s Cabin suggest that American women may have heeded Grimké’s advice? To what extent does Grimké embody the idea that the Cult of Domesticity empowered women? Use and cite evidence from the documents to support your analysis of Grimké’s “Appeal to Southern Women” and the excerpt from chapter nine of Stowe’s book, Uncle Tom’s Cabin. References to ALL of the excerpts must be incorporated into your essay. Do not use outside sources.
