Grammarly: Refining the Essay

Each week, you will be asked to respond to the prompt or prompts in the discussion forum. Your initial post should be 75-150 words in length, and is due on Sunday. By Tuesday, you should respond to two additional posts from your peers.

Grammarly is a respected product that has real value to students. While according to GU policy, faculty may only deduct 5% for APA errors, a second deduction can be taken for grammar and writing in general. While these deductions are a small amount of the score, consistent loss of these points can impact your course grade.

Grammarly also has a paid feature with more functions. Those functions are not required, and students need not purchase anything to complete this discussion.

Go to the Grammarly site: https://www.grammarly.com/signup and sign up for the free version.

Copy/paste the following paragraph about chocolate into the Grammarly site for review:

Inspect the Grammarly site for feedback. After you click on each alert, see if you agree with the suggestion. If so, fix the errors by clicking on the red or green boxes or follow their directions. Once you have fixed the errors, copy/paste the corrected paragraph into the Discussion Forum.
