Should the U.S. government do away with age minimums for drinking alcohol

Length – 7, double-spaced,  not counting the Works Cited page, which should be at the start of a new page at the end of the essay, not in a separate file.

Sources – higher grades will go to quality sources from books and articles in print or on the web. Academic online sources (including .edu sites) will be valued higher than Dot Com sites. You must include a minimum of 4 good quality sources in your paper!!!!!!

A 7-page paper calls for approximately 14 to 18 paragraphs. One suggested organization pattern might be:

Paragraph 1 – introduction, i.e., announce the topic to your reader and why you think it is important
Paragraph 2 – explain why it is controversial and state your thesis/point of view (Paragraph 1 + 2 taken together should be no more than one double-spaced page in a paper of this length)
Paragraph 3 – Begin supporting your thesis with a point-of-view topic sentence and corresponding paragraph.
Paragraphs 4 to 10 – Continue the support, working in your sources. Often these are arranged from least to most important or the reverse, but there should be some logic to the arrangement. Make good use of transitions to keep the flow of argument running smoothly.
Paragraph 11 to 12 – Give voice to an opposing point of view. This stratey is covered in chapte 6 in  your textbook
Paragraph 13 – Explain weaknesses in the opposing point of view.
Paragraph 14 – Revisit your thesis and offer concluding comments.
