Order Description

This critical response paper deals with the arguments presented by Horowitz, Chrisman and Allen. According to Horowitz, in order to establish that reparations must be made to Black Americans, we must be able to identify those people who are responsible for intentionally harming Black Americans and we must be able to identify those people who have been directly harmed by the aftermath of slavery. In contrast, Chrisman and Allen disagree with Horowitz?s assertion regarding necessary identification of those who have harmed. In their response, they point out that the aftermath of slavery is that racism has become structuralized into our social practices and that these, in turn, harm Blacks.

In your critical analysis paper, address the following:

(1) Whose methodology do you think is correct with regards to what we need to substantiate in order to establish that slave reparations are owed?

(2) Based on your preferred methodology, do you think we owe slave reparations? Why or why not?
