Book Overview (75 Points)
Don Reardon is an Alaskan author who wrote a book called The Ravens Gift (2011). Although this book
is fiction, it depicts the best and worst of people during times of tragedy. This paper will begin with a
cover page, include 5-6 full pages of text answering a series of questions provided below, and end with a
reference page where the book is referenced in APA style. When writing this overview, be aware that
paraphrasing must be used, and points will not be earned for quotes.

1. The name, author and a brief overview of the book (one full page)
2. Discussion of how the book relates to the psychology of women (1P)
3. Identification and discussion of the three main themes of the book in relation to the characters (3P)
4. Discussion of the roles and expectations of women and men (2P)
5. Discussion of major challenges, changes, and growth of the main characters (3P)
6. Although the main character is a male, discussion of the relationship among the three main female
characters and what each contributes to the book (3P)
7. Overview of how the book teaches important messages about seeing and knowing (2P)
8. Discussion of what the book teachers about courage, commitment, love, and a sense of community (4P)
9. Discussion of personal reaction to the book (1P)
10. Summary and discussion of the main message the author was portraying (1P)

All papers must begin with a cover page and include one inch margins, page numbers upper right,
12 font, Times New Roman, double-spacing, no extra space between paragraphs, correct grammar and
spelling, and end with a reference page with citations following APA style.
