Nowadays, communication is one of the most important thing in our lives. So, each person has his own way to communicate. As we know academic writing and texting are a form of written but they have a lot of differences. So, if we compare texting and academic writhing we will find texting is easier then academic writing because in texting you don’t have to check the grammar and you can write slang, also texting can be done by anyone, but in academic writing you should use academic word and you have to follow the steps

Choose one of the following three types of written communication—texting, email, Tweets—and compare/contrast its most important language features to those of with academic writing.

There is actually a great deal of freedom within these parameters. For example, you could take a straightforward approach and simply choose one of the three listed methods of written communication and identify several ways that each communication mode operates similarly/differently. Of, you could explain how one works better than the other. Or, you could specify which rhetorical situation are better suited for which communicative option. Some of you have decided to take on all four listed kids of communicating. Of course, you could think of some other way to engage with these various written forms. In fact, we will generate some of these possibilities in class.

In any case, the specifics for how you might achieve the highest amount of skills development—and receive the highest grade possible—include:

  • a detailed explanation of the three most important language features of your chosen type of communication—texting, email, or Tweets (we will discuss how to identify these in class)
  • a detailed explanation of the three most important language features of academic writing (again, we will discuss how to identify these in class)
  • at least 3 examples of texts, emails, or Tweets that demonstrate your three language features (one source per feature = 3 texting, email, or Tweet sources) ***these three sources may come from anywhere, including your own texts, emails, or Tweets***
  • at least 3 examples of academic writing that demonstrate your three language features (one source per feature = 3 academic sources) ***these three sources can come from either a college-level book or academic articles found through the library’s electronic databases***
  • an original multi-paragraph response, organized in the fundamental intro-body-conclusion academic shape
  • approx. 1000 words (this is a target range, NOT an absolute number that MUST be reached . . . quality is much more important than mere quantity)
