SUBJECT: Multiple System Atrophy (focus on nervous system and the brain)

This paper will be written in two parts.

The first part (9-10 double-spaced pages) will be written for an audience including your classmates, colleagues or other neuroscientists and you will need to use proper scientific writing and terminology.

The second part (11-14 double-spaced pages) will be shorter and written for a lay audience and people who would not understand scientific terms (a patient’s family member, a neighbor, middle  school students…) so you will need to refrain from using scientific term without explaining them in more general, accessible terms.

Grading of paper:
Inclusion of sections labeled (25%):

1)      Societal and lifestyle impact of the disease

2)    Disease symptoms

3)      Information on the cause and mechanism of the disease

4)      Treatments or cures

30 % for presentation of correct and accurate scientific information

25% for properly adapting writing style to audience

10% for the full and proper citation of reference materials (APA citation)

10% for the proper use of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence and paragraph construction

Please utilize at least 6-8 sources, do not include Wikipedia.
