UAE’s political risks associated with land acquisitions in Latin America for food security purposes.
Identify and evaluate the UAE’s political risks associated with land acquisitions practices in Latin America, through looking at the UAE as a case study and addressing the possible political and
security risks associated with acquiring land in Latin America for food security purposes. Latin American countries went through many phases and governmental reforms through the past years
at economic level, Environmental and political level as well. It would be through using a grounded theory process in this case it’s the comparative analyses of previous cases in which other
countries have invested and faced challenges in Latin America, and compare it with the UAE’s land acquisition practices overseas. This research paper intends to explore and identify the political
risks that could pose a risk to the stability of the food supply chain in the UAE as an example.
• The framework includes the historical background of previous events and case studies in which some practices that have been applied in Latin America and what are the main challenges
and risks that countries like the UAE, which is considered to be a food importing developing country, might face. The main identified research question will look into the risks associated with the
UAE’s land acquisition in Latin American intended for dealing with its food insecurity dilemma.
