Project description
I. THE ASSIGNMENT
Students will pick a country they would like to visit in Asia. This means (1) not your home country; (2) not a country you have visited – pick one you have never been to. Exception, if you pick India, you will just pick a region, not the whole country. The same goes for China or Russia – pick a specific region because the country is too big. But the region you pick should be one you have not visited.Click here to place an order for a similar paper and have exceptional work done by our team and get A+results
Students will construct a wiki on this country. There is no word limit. You will need to construct and write multiple pages. Effort will count considerably. You can use Wikipedia wikis as a model but must adapt your own wiki according to the instructions below.
THE MAIN GOALS OF THIS ASSIGNMENT:
• Students will learn to apply the fundamentals of the regional tourism geography approach used in lectures to a specific country of their choice.
• Students will learn how to assess the potential of a country to provide a meaningful vacation experience for themselves
• Note—this is not a computer science paper—the goals are related to learning about tourism. Making a wiki is just a new and interesting way to do this. Substance is more important than design.
II. THE SCENARIO:
You have decided that you intend to take a holiday in the chosen country in Asia. This holiday will last AT LEAST 15 days, allowing you to have adequate time to visit most of the country (with the exception of really big countries – China, India, Russia – if you pick one of these you will need to define a region). You decide you will learn all you can about the country before you go; this includes learning about tourism there. You will decide how much money you have to spend in the country (don’t count airfare) and create your trip on the basis of whether it’s economy (eg., backpacking), middle class or luxury. Pick one, don’t mix them.
III. THE WIKI WILL CONTAIN:
1. Home page – this page functions like an Introduction does in a written assignment. However, you will be expected to write short synopses of your “main articles” on this page. You will also describe yourself a bit, in a biosketch at the bottom, in particular by stating whether you are an economy, middle class, or luxury tourist.
2. Main pages: You will be expected to construct several other pages that flesh out your knowledge of the country. These are listed below. You are to have one page for each major theme.
• Physical Geography Page. This will cover the “land, air, water” sections – i.e., the physical environment.
• Human Geography Page – This will have social, cultural, political, and economic aspects.

IV. DISCUSSION OF THE CONTENTS OF THE WIKI
Physical example. Bhutan is in the Himalayan Mountains. In the Physical Geography page you would describe the mountains. In the Destination page you would discuss the mountains as a tourist attraction. In the Tourists page you’d find data about trekking, etc and how tourists described their experiences of the mountains. In the Systems page you might cover different routes through the mountains that tourists take.

VII. REFERENCES
You will need to reference your sources just like in any other assignment but they will be done in a different style that is typical of wikis.
In the text: DO NOT USE the author date system, e.g., (Butler 1980, 27). Just place a number in superscript, e.g., 1
In the text on a particular page, the citations should be in numerical order. Eg 1 2 3 4 5 2 3 6 7 1 8 2 9 10. Each page needs to have cited a minimum of 10 references. Pages that do not will incur a 5/100 penalty. If you use the same reference on more than one page the citation number of the reference will probably not be the same.
At the bottom of each page make a table and add the complete references in numerical order, again using the superscript. Just use one number for one reference, no matter how many times you cite it on that page. Here is an example of the type of table you need to make.
Number of the reference the url of the reference; if it’s a book or article, then you need the full APA reference date accessed
note url’s should be hyperlinked so that I can just click on them to check it

You do not need a separate References page. If you cite a source that’s not a web site, you must use proper APA referencing. See http://www.apastyle.org/elecref.html
