Cybersecurity is critical for all organizations both large and small. We live in a world where new risks emerge every hour and every single day and for the cybersecurity businesses to make their sales for example they may end up ill-defining or narrowly defining the cybersecurity terms in a bid to ensure the business blooms. Cybercrime is certainly a huge business and organizations have the mandatory mandate to have a solid cybersecurity system and plan in place. The ill-defining of terms and the narrow defining of terms is often witnessed in situations where the individuals seeking system protection or cybersecurity services are not informed. The cyber security vendors may therefore try to identify and to also develop the organizational understanding to manage cybersecurity risk to system, individuals and the entire organization. They therefore try to complicate the simplest of terms as they try to ensure they get the business even for the smallest practices and the measures that the organization may have taken on their own. The cybersecurity business vendors also play around with the definition of the simplest of terms and as a result they end up having the task to develop and to implement the appropriate safeguard as they ensure the delivery of the critical services.

From the discussion it is important to note that the knowledge and the experience of the employees within the organization on matters cybersecurity, as well as the organization’s hardware and the operating system configuration will go a long way in ensuring they obtain the right services when need arises and also by ensuring they do not get exploited by the cybersecurity vendors. It is also important to appreciate the technological advancements in cybersecurity such as the rise of artificial intelligence and how the knowledge obtained and applied can be of great importance in protecting the business. Ill-definition or the narrow definition of terms is used as marketing strategy by the cybersecurity vendors to ensure they get money and business from the organizations that may be in need of their services.
