The four dive theory of motivation and Maslow’s need theory are two good ways to understand how employees can give their best. Bond and belonging of the four drive theory results from a need to love and belonging as expressed by Maslow. Acquire and achieve is a drive that satisfies the esteem needs of a person. Every employee looks for recognition in his job thereby allowing him to achieve what he wants. This is driven by the fact that everyone needs to have esteem in not only the work place but also in society. So employers who can give this are considered to be the best of the lot.

My employer motivates me by asking me to take very important decision regarding team work. I feel very important when this task is given to me hence I get motivated to bring out my best.

Managers can motivate employee’s diverse needs by participatory management and by self driven teams. This is the only way employees can sustain in their efforts to deliver. The feeling of ownership stems from this.

Job satisfaction comes only from being motivated to work. If I am made to feel that my job is very important to the organization, I feel motivated and get satisfaction.
