Volcano Eruption

Volcanoes have various effect but to most of us when we imagine of a volcanic eruption we think of the worst probable because of what we have seen in the movies. Volcanoes have both pros and cons and some of the cons includes when an eruption happens the houses adjacent to the mountain may be covered with ash. Scientifically, lave flows are too slow to run over people but they can run over structure such as roads and houses. There are several reasons why people still leave near areas that are seismically active including the fact that most time the land is often very fertile and can be very good for farming. Another reason is that they create beautiful landscapes as well as create mineral deposits.

Tambora volcano in Indonesia may be one of the deadliest eruption to ever have happened. The eruption resulted in death of over 10000 people and crops and houses were destroyed. The eruption was caused by ocean water that was penetrating the fissures and cracks of the mountain. When the water reacted with magma in the volcano there was a pressure build up that resulted in the eruption The eruption had also global effect as it released millions of tons of Sulphur to the atmosphere resulting in a climate anomaly. It resulted in a year without summer in the Northern Hemisphere. After the eruption, the government became more vigilant in tracking of the activities happening in mount Tambora (Ames, 2019). Through gathering information, they are able to project a possible eruption and this information may help them become more prepared. The simulation and calculation by the scientist are able to project which mountains are at risk of erupting.
