It is also considered a great job creating area since its labour force demanding and the momentous impact on the job employment sector. The sector however, has a negative character due to the poor working environments associated with it. It is also an uneven industry with many employers being small and medium industries with less union solidity and jobs signified by less remuneration and less technical knowhow demands and sometimes working until late in the nights Medlick & Airey(1981).

The hotel and catering sector may always result in stress and a soul harmful sector to work in. This might have serious consequences for all that are working in the sector right from grounds men, chamber assistants and the top managers. It can never be compared to office tasks since all workers in the sector must be flexible with times of the week as there can be emergency duty calls at night. This sector therefore requires a good manager and appropriate supervisors which must also be supplemented by healthy teamwork. In some case there might be variations and great benefits from the sector.

Close to all companies in the sector are huge contributors of their nations Gross National income. Appearing among the greatest five companies reveals that it contributes a lot to the economy. In comparison to other sectors, hotel and catering bases much on external tourists unlike other sectors which may rely on the general population for business. It is not affected by other nation’s recession and remains generating income regardless of economic difficulties in the country of location. In Europe for example the hotel and catering sector employs more than two million persons making it appear among the best employers. It is also an active sector in the tourism industry that is creating jobs which has been evident in times of economic hardships and resilience. It is also capable of recovering fast as opposed to other tourist reliant businesses.

To conclude, it is evident that the hotel and catering sector is crucial to many world economies and developing nations Wood (1997). Hence, governments should indulge themselves in establishing appropriate friendly environments for such sectors to operate. Investors should also be encouraged to invest in such sectors and lastly regards to the top management in Hotel and catering sectors, that they should strive at all times to improve the working environment in the sector.
