We will start each class with a pop music warm-up. Each student will sign up for two days to lead the warm-up, which primarily consists of sharing a music video or song of your choice that ties to previous course concepts or that day’s concepts. You will share the video/song you brought in, explain its significance, and respond to questions from your classmates. The presentation should not be longer than 5-10 minutes. If two students are presenting (be it as a team or separately), the combined overall length of the presentations should not exceed 12 minutes. In such cases, consider playing only excerpts of songs/videos. Please inform me of the song/video you choose in advance. You can choose a song/video mentioned in the selected reading or a song/video that you think ties in well with it. If two students present on the same day, please coordinate to make sure you are not discussing the same themes. I recommend choosing one or two selected themes/key concepts from the readings; you are not expected to discuss the full readings in such a short amount of time.
