Parfit on The Self Discussion

Write a 3 to 5 page paper in response to the following prompt. Your script should be double spaced, 12pt text.

Parfit on the Self. What is the difference between the ego theory and the bundle (or “reductionist”) view of the self? Why might you prefer the bundle theory over the ego theory? Why does Parfit say that if the bundle theory is true, “Personal Identity is not what matters”?

Before writing your paper, make sure you make a plan. Also, it may be helpful to review the “writing a paper” checklist slide that we discussed in the first class (available on the course site under files/slides and handouts).
