3. Describe three of the several ways drugs can be administered into the body. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each of them with respect to toxicity and side effects. (3B) Discuss the various generations of anti-psychotic and anti-depressant medications – including side effects.

4. Define and explain risk factors and protective factors. Why are these important in creating successful treatment results? (4B) Explain in detail, the three major social developments in the 1960s that brought the heroin story back into the mainstream of the United States.

5. Discuss in detail the lethality of heroin abuse. . (5B). Discuss the trends of opioid pain medications (specifically OxyContin, Vicodin, and Percocet). How are these prescription drugs being obtained for misuse? What have been responses to this medication abuse and have they been effective? (5C) Explain the effects opiates have on the mind and body.
