For this Portfolio Project, you will synthesize and apply the concepts, principles, and theories studied in this course MGT510 Strategy Planning, as related to a practical scenario. For this assignment option, you will prepare a PowerPoint presentation in response to the hypothetical situation below. Select a company that you are familiar with, or a publicly traded company that you have access to information to complete this project. You may select a company where you work, or use a company that interests you as a possible future employment position. The primary focus of this Portfolio Project is to convey to your professor that you understand the strategy creation process and that you can identify specific examples or actions of strategic planning activities, as specifically related to your selected organization. Scenario: You work for a consulting company that specializes in strategic planning. After some time, you have been assigned an independent project to work with a major, high-profile client. The client (e.g. the company that you select), who is employed as the CEO of your selected company, has specifically asked you to develop a more effective strategy-planning process. Part of your job in this consulting company is to help the executive team better understand the concepts and principles of a well-designed strategy process. The presentation is to include a set of examples of strategy planning activities specific to this organization. The concepts and examples will be used as a basis for discussion in an upcoming executive team retreat. As you prepare for your Portfolio Project, please note the following Milestones: Week 2: You must select and submit the name of the company you will use for the project. Week 4: You must submit the rough draft of your project – this can be only the notes sections of your slides and does not need to include the actual slides of your presentation. Portfolio Project Requirements: Your PowerPoint presentation should between 10-15 slides in length (not including title, reference pages, or appendixes) and should include extensive notes in the notes section of the presentation. This PowerPoint presentation should conform to Writing and APA Requirements. In addition to your textbook, include at least eight scholarly references.
