Nurse practitioners actively engage in the process of translating nursing knowledge into practice, thereby establishing evidence-based approaches within the discipline. Throughout this process, a theoretical framework provides a meaningful context to guide and support the evidence-based practice. The purpose of this assignment is to identify a theory or model which can be used as a framework for a future evidence-based project during your nurse practitioner education.

  • Submit your PowerPoint file to the Dropbox by 11:59 p.m. MT Sunday at the end of Week 7.
  • In addition, submit your link to the discussion thread for Week 8 by 11:59 PM MT Sunday at the end of week 7.

Students are expected to submit assignments by the time they are due. Assignments submitted after the due date and time will receive a deduction of 10% of the total points possible for that assignment for each day the assignment is late. Assignments will be accepted, with penalty as described, up to a maximum of three days late, after which point a zero will be recorded for the assignment. In Week 7, you will create a Kaltura presentation using PowerPoint. In Week 8, you will upload your discussion to the threaded discussion and interact with peers in discussions related to their presentations.

Select a theory or model which is relevant to your nurse practitioner specialty and would offer a meaningful context for evidence-based practice surrounding the issue or concern which you identified.

  • Length: The PowerPoint presentation must be 7 total slides (excluding title and reference slides). The Kaltura presentation should be between 5-15 minutes.
  • Please use the Kaltura feature available in your classroom to record and submit your presentation. Additional instructions on Kaltura can be found under Course Resources.
  • Speaker notes should be used and include in-text citations when applicable. Submit PowerPoint with speaker notes as an attachment to the Dropbox.
  • A minimum of three (3) scholarly literature sources must be used.
