Discussion 10-10 —How would you define “ethics”? What types of ethical issues are involved in computerized accounting information systems? How can organizations encourage their employees to act ethically?

This module’s discussion assignment considers ethical issues in involved in computerized accounting information systems. Please post your response to Discussion Question 10-10 from the Core Concepts book.

As part of this assignment, I’d like to encourage everyone to take a look at our university’s code of conduct and see if you can thread that into your discussion (the better grades will probably go to those that do J). Here’s the link:

You may be wondering how the Module 5 DQ Assignment differs from the Module 4 DQ Assignment.

Here’s the difference.

In Module 4, we’re looking at the St. Leo University Core Values and ethics in AIS’s.

In Module 5 we continue our exploration of ethics in AIS’s but we want to frame our discussion in the context of St. Leo University’s Code of Conduct.

With the Core Values (last week) we considered the loftier aspects of ethics.  In the Code of Conduct (this week) we want to consider the more practical side including controls and procedural suggestions.
