Assignment 1: Discussion—Working Memory

While there are multiple theories on working memory, one of the most prominent is that proposed by Dr. Alan Baddeley, Ph.D. 

In an effort to explain the structure and function of working memory, Dr. Baddeley developed the concepts of the visuospatial sketchpad, the central executive, and the episodic buffer. 

Dr. Baddeley and his colleagues have conducted numerous research studies examining memory and have even applied the concepts to investigate cognitive performance during simulated deep-sea diving.
