Demonstrate fluency in the writing process: planning, drafting, revising, editing, and preparing final papers. (This objective will be covered in all of our major essays, including the term’s research paper.)
Demonstrate competence in the varied elements of writing: thesis, stance, content, organization, sentences, diction, and technical matters. (This objective will also be covered in all of our major essays, including the term’s research paper.)
Demonstrate awareness of rhetorical strategies in various forms of writing, with particular attention to audience. (This objective will also be covered in all of our major essays, including the term’s research paper and will also be addressed in many of our discussion boards and class discussions.)

Understand the relevance of good writing to real-world situations.
