Research Paper: For this project you will do a critical analysis paper on one of the topics below. In writing your paper, you have the option of choosing one of two formats (APA or MLA). Your paper will be 5 double spaced pages, 12 font size, one-inch margins on the top, bottom, left, and right. Your paper must have at least five references (including scholarly peer reviewed journals, books) and it must be formatted with a cover page with your name and title of your paper. The cover page and references pages are additional to the 5 pages.

Women’s Reproductive Rights, Voting Rights, Immigration Reform, Healthcare reform are some of the most contemporary controversial issues because of their significant impact of individuals and families in the United States.

(1) Write a critical review of the “anti-Women’s Reproductive Health legislation” in the US in 2011-2018. Your review should reflect your knowledge of the main arguments, theories and debates presented around the issue; and how different States are handling the issue.

OR

(2) Write a critical review of immigration reform legislation in US Congress in 2012- 2018. Your review should reflect your knowledge of the main arguments, theories and debates presented around the issue; and how different States are handling the issue.

OR

(3) Write a critical review of voting laws the US in 2012-18 and their impact on women and other marginalized groups. Your review should reflect your knowledge of the main arguments, theories and debates presented around the issue; and how different States are handling the issue.

The focus in this assignment is legislation at federal and state level. That is, laws and bills that have been passed – you may also include presidential executive orders or initiatives from state legislatures. Focus on the period 2011 -2018. Provide examples of legislation at federal level and some examples at state level.
