Assignment 1

Write a reflective account about your case study based on a project diary (1000 words). An appendix containing pamphlets, papers, photos etc should be submitted with

your account.

This work needs a minimum of 15 intext references and a page of content. There are 2 different assignments and each of them should be done separate with their own

separate reference pages.

This assignment will attract 25% of the overall available marks. You should not go over or under the word count requirement by more than 10%.

An indicative outline of the reflective account is shown below:

€¢ Description of the organisation and the key issue (150 words).

€¢ Your study and data collection (350 words). Why did you choose the organisation and the key issue? Why was the key issue? How did you collect your data? What data

did you collect?

€¢ Reflection (500 words). How did the case study go for you? What did you learn about the organisation? What did you learn about the key issue? What did you learn

about yourself?

Assignment 2

Write a critical review (2500 words) of a health or social care issue currently facing East London, using the organisation selected for the case study.
This assignment needs a minimum of 25 intext references and a content page, this has to have its own reference page.

The assignment will attract 75% of the overall available marks. You should not go over or under the word count requirement by more than 10%.

An indicative outline of the critical review is shown below:

€¢ Introduction (200 words). A brief description of the issue and organisation studied.

€¢ Context (400 words). The social, cultural, demographic, geographical and historical make up of the area. Is this different from elsewhere? What are the key health

issues? What makes your project subject important and interesting?

€¢ Study method (400 words). How did you go about your study? What data did you collect? How did you collect it?

€¢ Review (1000 words). Critically analyse the organisation and its approach to the key issue facing it. Assess the importance of the issue to the local population. How

are local people involved in the organisation’s handling of it?

€¢ Conclusion (500 words). Draw together the main points highlighted in your review. To what extent do they reflect local issues across East London? What are the

strengths and weaknesses of the organisation’s approach? Make and justify any recommendations for change, which follow from your study.
