3M Coding
i L A B O V E R V I E W
Scenario and Summary
You will be using the 3M Coding software to complete your lab assignment. See Doc Sharing for instructions and sample medical records for Elena and Jane. You will assign each of them one of the four severity-of-illness and four risk-of-mortality subclasses.
You will then research various grouper software (DRG, APC, and RUG) to identify: grouper software vendors, system features and functions, market share of each vendor in healthcare organizations, and pricing models.
You will also be required to research various severity-of-illness program websites. Compare and contrast system features, functions, and uses of these systems.
Be sure to study the week 3 lecture thoroughly in order to prepare for this assignment.
Deliverables

? Market share of each vendor in healthcare organizations
? Pricing models
Record your finidngs in your Word document.
STEP 3: Severity-of-Illness
Research various severity-of-illness programs websites. Ask your instructor for assistance if you have difficulty identify aIDitional programs. Compare and contrast system features, functions, and uses of these systems. Are these the same programs as you identified in Step 2 as grouper software?
Record your findings in your Word document.
