Why Marijuana Should be Legalized
Marijuana is a product of a combination of the parts of the cannabis sativa hemp plant. It was originally used as medicine, which helped in the reduction of pain and for psychological treatment. It is essential for marijuana to be legalized in the United States for its various benefits.
Marijuana can be used to make paper, clothe, and other products that are used in every household and office as well. It has a very healthy seed, which can be used to produce various cooking oils and flour as well as acting as a source of earning for many citizens in American society. Since marijuana is an environmental friendly crop, it helps replenish the nutrients in the soil.
The U.S. government has been using large amounts of funds in the fight against marijuana consumption. These funds would otherwise have been used to help the needy and grow the economy. The prohibition of marijuana has led to more of its production, which means that the fight against it was not successful. Given its benefits, the legalization of marijuana would be favorable to the United States and it should not be regarded as a drug that should be banned.

Marijuana has been used as a mode of experiencing great excitement since early times. In ancient China, there are records of it being used as medicine. Marijuana was used for psychoactive purposes. It was also used for medication purposes in the case of rheumatism. Research also indicates that marijuana was used for intoxication purposes. Islamic adherents have been using it as a recreational agent since the use of alcohol is restricted by the Holy Koran. The Spanish people brought marijuana to the ancient times and it became a popular commercial crop alongside tobacco, being also used for the purposes of producing fiber.
The rise of the cotton as major cash crop sidelined marijuana in most countries that produced it. Also, the rise of opium and cocaine brought great competition to the use of marijuana. From the historical point of view, marijuana became more popular when it was prohibited. Its use by entertainers for recreational purposes (though it was banned) led to its great earning to the illegal cartels.
In the countries where marijuana was legalized, the authorities put up with this establishment of cartels who pay taxes because of their deals.
