1. Robert Leonard, a reporter from Iowa, describes the con-servative values as well as the social and economic con-ditions that he believes led a majority of people living in rural America to vote for Donald Trump. Summarize his description in two or three sentences.

3. Leonard includes quotations from several people whose views differ from his own, such as J. C. Watts, a conserva-tive Baptist minister. Find three examples where Leonard presents conservative views, and show how he is able to clearly distinguish those views from his own.
