FA: CASE STUDY ANALYSIS OF WEST FERTILIZER COMPANY EXPLOSION
As an Industrial Hygienist, you have been assigned the task of re-establishing a basic inhabitable work environment for the remediation of the West Fertilizer Company explosion. This task will include guidance for safe entry, safe clean-up procedures, appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all recovery workers, and a hazard assessment for the most critical items or operations that can cause acute or chronic health effects. illness, or disease.
In your report, you must account for the following:

- Personal Protective Equipment Requirements
Ensure that you cite regulations and standards that lead you to make the recommendations. For example, if you recommend using outriggers, you would cite “OSHA 29 CFR 1926.959(b)“; or if you make recommendations from a NIOSH publication regarding abrasive blasting, and the need for respiratory protection, you would cite “HEW Publication No. (NIOSH) 74-104 (1974)“
You should have a minimum of 7 paragraphs in your paper. An introduction that includes a brief summary of the incident, a paragraph (with the correct APA formatted heading) for each of the items listed above (there are five areas to cover with 6 sub-headings), and a conclusion paragraph that summarizes your recommendations.
Remember all work must be cited with a reference page. Your report should also include a cover page. All work should be completed in APA format. Your paper should be at least 6 pages, including the cover page and references. You do not need to include an Abstract.
