In your response to this assignment, answer the following questions. Please write at least 150 words in response to each individual question:

1. THEIR ESSAY: What different types of research did the student bring into their essay? What different aspects of the rhetorical situation, and of their project, did the sources help to inform them about? Were some sources more creative or surprising than others?

2. YOUR ESSAY: How is your source usage going in the Essay so far? What areas of your rhetorical situation do you think you could be better informed about through source usage? What types of surprising or not-immediately-apparent sources might be useful to bring in to inform yourself (and your reader) about your choices?

3. THEIR ESSAY: How did this student choose to organize her essay and her discussion of her rhetorical choices and sources? What do you think was effective or ineffective about her organizational decisions? How did she introduce the essay, and how did she conclude it?

4. YOUR ESSAY: What lessons might you draw from this student’s essay (and/or other samples you’ve examined) about how you may want to organize your explanations in the RIP Essay? What do you think will be good way to approach your organization?

5. THEIR ESSAY: Choose and identify two or more places where this student’s explanation of her rhetorical choices was especially convincing, impressive, deep, and/or profound. What did the student do to create that effect? What about the student’s explanation/analysis was most effective?

6. YOUR ESSAY: Look at one particular moment where you explain a choice. Do you have a claim about what you were doing there? Evidence that it was a good decision for your audience, purpose, etc? Analysis of why it was a good decision for your audience, purpose, etc? How can you adopt explanation/analysis techniques that you see this student using and bring them into your own essay? How is your analysis and explanation going so far, and what pieces of analysis or explanation do you think you may be missing?
